How I planned a trip for only ₹XXXX – step-by-step budget breakdown”

How I planned a trip for only ₹8,000 – step-by-step budget breakdown 🧳🕌

Introduction

I planned a trip to Jaisalmer for only ₹8,000. This is my simple plan. I write it so you can copy it. I use short words. I use short lines. I keep it easy. You can plan a low cost trip too. I show each cost. I show how I save money. I show what I see and do. 🌞🐪

Why Jaisalmer?

Jaisalmer is a golden city. It has a big fort and old havelis. It has sand dunes and camel rides. It has desert camps and folk music. Many people visit in winter. The best months are October to March. This time is cool and nice for travel. 0

Trip length and time

I plan for 2 nights and 3 days. This is enough to see main places. I go in winter. The nights are cool. The days are fine. This helps save money and enjoy the desert. 1

My trip goals
  • See Jaisalmer Fort.
  • Walk old lanes and see havelis.
  • Do a desert camp with a camel ride.
  • Eat local food and buy a small gift.
Quick map of my plan
  1. Travel to Jaisalmer.
  2. Stay in a budget hotel.
  3. Visit fort and market.
  4. Desert camp + camel ride.
  5. Return home.

Step-by-step budget breakdown 💰

Below I show each cost. I give real numbers. The total stays near ₹8,000.

1) Travel (train or bus) – ₹1,500

I take a train or a bus. Train costs vary. Bus can be cheap. I book early. I use sleeper or AC 3 tier if long. I pick the cheapest good choice. Book online for deals.

2) Stay (2 nights) – ₹2,200

I stay in a budget hotel or guest house. I choose a clean room. I book with breakfast. Many good camps and hotels show low rates in winter. You can find rooms around ₹1,000–₹2,500 per night in low season. I pick one for ₹1,100 per night. 2

3) Food – ₹1,000

I eat local food. I eat dal, roti, sabzi and sweets. I avoid fancy restaurants. I buy chai and snacks from small shops. I set a daily food budget of ₹300–₹400. For 3 days, I keep ₹1,000. This covers small treats. 🍛☕

4) Desert camp + camel ride – ₹1,800

This is fun and important. Many camps give a night stay, dinner, folk show and camel ride. Basic packages start from about ₹1,000–₹2,500 per person. I choose a simple camp for ₹1,800. This has dinner, bed and breakfast, and a one hour camel ride. Booking direct or in low season helps. 3

5) Local travel and entry fees – ₹300

I use local autos and shared cabs. I walk a lot. Fort entry and small museum fees are low. I keep ₹300 for short trips and tickets. 🛺

6) Shopping and misc – ₹200

I have small money for a gift or a cup of tea. I do not shop much. I buy one small souvenir. This helps keep the trip cheap. 🎁

Total cost

Travel ₹1,500
Stay ₹2,200
Food ₹1,000
Camp + Camel ₹1,800
Local ₹300
Shopping ₹200

Total = ₹7,,000

Note: I keep a small buffer of ₹1,000 for safety. This makes the final planned budget close to ₹8,000.

How I save money (Easy tips) ✅

  • Book train or bus early. Tickets cost less early. 🚆
  • Travel in low season (not festival time). Prices fall. 📉
  • Choose a simple camp or budget hotel. You still get clean rooms. 🛏️
  • Eat in local places. Food is tasty and cheap. 🍲
  • Walk in the city. Many spots are close to each other. 👟
  • Use shared cabs to dunes if possible. Split cost with others. 🚗
  • Carry water and snacks for the dune trip. It cuts small buys. 🥤

Daily plan (Short and clear)

Day 1

  • Reach Jaisalmer.
  • Check in to hotel.
  • Visit Jaisalmer Fort.
  • Walk in the old market.

Day 2

  • Go to desert camp in afternoon.
  • Camel ride at sunset. 🐪
  • Enjoy folk dance at camp.
  • Sleep in the camp.

Day 3

  • Return to city.
  • Visit havelis and small temples.
  • Buy a small gift.
  • Return home.

What to pack (Simple list) 🎒

  • Warm clothes for winter nights.
  • Cap or scarf for sun.
  • Good shoes for walking.
  • Sunscreen and sunglasses.
  • Water bottle and snacks.
  • Phone charger and power bank.

Safety tips

Carry ID. Keep a small first aid kit. Tell someone your plan. Do not leave valuables in the camp. Ask the camp manager for safe spots. Stay with your group in dunes. Use registered vehicles.

Why this plan works

This plan keeps cost low. It keeps joy high. You see the best of Jaisalmer. You sleep in a desert camp. You ride a camel. You walk the golden lanes. The plan uses low cost travel and stay. You get real local food. You meet local people and hear music. It is simple and sweet. 🌟

Where I check prices and find camps (Resources)

I look at travel sites and state tourism pages. I read reviews on travel sites. I check camp sites for real rates. Here are useful links I used for planning and prices:

  • Rajasthan Tourism - Jaisalmer page. 4
  • Local camp packages and offers (sample pages). 5
  • Tripadvisor for camp reviews and prices. 6
  • Best time to visit (season guide). 7

Final tips before you go ✈️

  1. Plan early and write down costs.
  2. Carry extra cash for the camp tip or small fee.
  3. Book the desert camp in advance in peak season.
  4. Keep copies of your ID and booking proof.

Conclusion

You can enjoy Jaisalmer on a small budget. I made a plan for ₹8,000. I saw the fort and slept in the desert. I rode a camel at sunset. I ate local food and bought a small gift. You can do the same with smart choices. Plan well. Book smart. Travel safe. Have fun! 😊
